When I was young, I didn’t have much. But I had my hands, my mind, and the determination to make something. I taught myself how to fix things — wiring, plumbing, roofing, carpentry — one project at a time. I scraped together enough to buy my first home, beat-up and broken. I poured every ounce of skill and sweat I had into fixing it up.
Then I bought another. And another. And something changed — not just for me, but for others too.
I didn’t just rent these homes out. I taught the people who lived in them how to maintain them. I gave them rent-to-own options, teaching them along the way how to fix, improve, and care for their homes — not just as tenants, but as future owners. I watched families that had struggled for years finally own a place they could call their own, because someone believed in their ability to learn, to build, to grow.
This is the spirit of the Maker Party.
We believe the skills of makers — electricians, plumbers, carpenters, roofers, mechanics, DIYers — can solve America’s homelessness crisis from the ground up.
Homelessness isn’t just a shortage of houses — it’s a shortage of opportunity. It’s a shortage of empowerment. It’s a shortage of investment in the 99%.
Imagine this:
Instead of throwing billions at temporary shelters and quick political fixes, what if we unleashed an army of skilled makers? What if we turned abandoned lots and decaying houses into homes again? What if we trained young people, returning citizens, single parents, and struggling workers to swing a hammer, run a wire, fix a leak, and lay a roof?
We could create millions of good jobs.
We could create millions of new homeowners.
We could create millions of stories of people who lifted themselves up — not by the bootstraps alone, but by learning real skills and teaching others.
The billionaires and the political elite want us fighting endless culture wars.
They want us distracted while they buy up every home, every plot of land, every opportunity.
They want us powerless. Homeless. Hopeless.
We refuse.
We make.
We build.
We teach.
We lift each other up.
At the Maker Party, we’re here to spark a revolution that starts with skills, community, and ownership — not slogans and billion-dollar promises.
We are the 99%.
We are the electricians, the plumbers, the carpenters, the makers.
We are the ones who can rebuild America — and make sure everyone has a place to call home.
